The 2011 London Marathon is this weekend – and there are still cheap hotels in London with rooms available on the 16th and 17th. The marathon route takes in landmarks like Pall Mall and Tower Bridge, and celebrity runners include Aygness Deyn, Katie Price and Will Young.

This townhouse conversion has Wi-Fi access, continental breakfasts and a communal kitchen and lounge. Central London is a short tube ride away from Paddington station.

A family-run three star hotel, Normandie offers a full English breakfast every morning. It’s a short tube ride to central London from nearby Paddington station.

The apartments have a central location for the marathon route as well as daily cleaning, Wi-Fi, flatscreen TVs, kitchens, lounges and terraces.

Plaza Hotel offers free Wi-Fi and a daily cooked continental breakfast. It’s west of the marathon route, a short tube or bus ride from the city centre.

Nayland Hotel has a bar and Wi-Fi access. Paddington station is just around the corner with tubes to whizz you in to central London.
